Job Summary

The Senior Accountant holds ultimate responsibility for all accounting activities within the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies and standards related to accounting policies, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and statutory filings in full compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses of the organization’s finances and present findings to executive leadership to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance internal controls; oversee regular audits of accounting policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets.
• Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant EU and international legislation and standards, staying up to date with changes and best practices.
• Support external audits, liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Significant experience in accounting roles, including responsibility for financial reporting and internal controls.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, with a strong understanding of both EU and international accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Advanced English language skills (mandatory).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Availability to work in a hybrid setup (office & remote).
