About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong focus on ETL, Talend and data integration to join a small, cross-functional product team working within the dx.one ecosystem.

This is not intended to be a simple supplier replacement. The client is looking for a long-term internal delivery partner, with the objective of gradually transferring product knowledge, ownership and responsibility to diconium. Over time, the team may assume full responsibility for the product.

The solution operates in a strategically important data environment, covering data integration, ETL, data quality, APIs, OpenSearch and Master Data Management-related processes. It is closely connected to dealer and customer data.

AI-supported delivery is also part of the project direction, including the use of Copilot and other AI-assisted engineering practices.

Team Setup

You will be part of a four-person product team consisting of:

  • Product Owner based in Germany
  • Data Engineer with a focus on ETL and Talend
  • Java Developer
  • QA Engineer

The engineering setup follows a T-shaped model, with team members contributing across the product while maintaining a clear primary area of expertise.

Your Role

As the Data Engineer in the team, you will take primary responsibility for the data engineering and ETL area of the solution.

Your work will involve:

  • Working with ETL and data integration processes
  • Developing and maintaining Talend-based data flows
  • Supporting data quality processes
  • Working with APIs and OpenSearch-related components
  • Contributing to Master Data Management-related processes
  • Supporting the processing and integration of dealer and customer data
  • Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, Java Developer and QA Engineer
  • Contributing to the gradual transfer of product knowledge and technical responsibility to the internal delivery team
  • Participating in AI-supported software delivery practices, including the use of Copilot

Requirements

  • Strong experience in data engineering
  • Practical experience with ETL processes
  • Experience working with Talend
  • Understanding of data integration and data quality topics
  • Experience or familiarity with APIs
  • Experience or familiarity with OpenSearch
  • Understanding of Master Data Management-related processes
  • Ability to work in a small, cross-functional product team
  • T-shaped engineering mindset, combining strong data engineering expertise with the ability to contribute to broader product topics
  • Willingness to take increasing ownership and responsibility as the product is gradually transferred to the team
